Timothy Rasinski is a professor emeritus of literacy education at Kent State University. A former classroom and reading intervention teacher, Tim has served on the Board of Directors of IRA as well as editor of The Reading Teacher and the Journal of Literacy Research. His scholarly interests include reading fluency, word study, and readers who struggle. His research on reading has been cited by the National Reading Panel and has been published in journals such as Reading Research Quarterly and The Reading Teacher. A member of the International Reading Hall of Fame, in 2020, he was awarded the William S. Gray Citation of Merit by the International Literacy Association, and in 2021, 2023, and 2026, he was identified as being among the top 2% of scientists in the world in reports from Stanford University.
